DMCC Facilitates Agreement to Increase Agri Trade Between Middle East and India Through Dubai

In a meeting today, the Government of Himachal Pradesh, India and India Middle East Agro Trade Industry and Investment Forum (IMEA-TIIF) entered into an agreement designed to strengthen ties between both parties, and increase food and agricultural trade between the Middle East and India through Dubai.

On behalf of the IMEA-TIIF, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

The pair discussed the rich and longstanding ties between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India, as well as the strength of the Indian business community in Dubai.

Bin Sulayem also briefed the room of senior officials from the Government of Himachal Pradesh on Dubai’s status as an international business hub, and how DMCC supports agri businesses connect to global trade flows.

The delegation in Dubai today included Mr. Jai Ram Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Manoj Kumar IAS, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries, Home and Tech. Edu., Government of Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Bikram Singh, Minister of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh and Sudhakar Tomar, President - India Middle East Agro Trade Industry and Investment Forum (IMEA-TIIF).
