- DMCC’s Executive Chairman and CEO hosts virtual briefing with UAE Ambassador to Canada

DMCC – the world’s flagship Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise – hosted a briefing call today with His Excellency Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Canada via a virtual conference.
The two leaders commended the UAE government for being at the forefront of the global battle against COVID-19, emphasising the wide range of measures and initiatives that have been developed and implemented across the seven emirates from the early stages to protect the safety and wellbeing of citizens, residents and visitors. The pair also expressed their pride in the unprecedented level of humanitarian support and assistance being provided by the leadership to countries across the globe to help safeguard lives.
Both leaders also praised the Canadian government for their swift action to protect the public health of the nation as well as their commitment towards the robust global effort to address the challenging health crisis, and towards supporting partners on the frontlines who are working to prevent, detect and combat the COVID-19 outbreak.
Bin Sulayem and H.E. Al Raqbani discussed the strategic bilateral relations between the UAE and Canada, considering ways to further strengthen existing ties, while also working together to attract Canadian businesses to the UAE and support the presence of UAE businesses in Canada over the coming period.

Also on the agenda was the exceptional support being provided to businesses in both countries through bold initiatives that aim to strengthen financial resilience and boost economic recovery throughout this period. Bin Sulayem took the opportunity to brief H.E. Al Raqbani on DMCC’s strategy to support the national economy and the business environment, including an update on DMCC’s Business Support Package.
