- Purpose-built football pitch set to support grassroots sports in Dubai
- DMCC enhances lifestyle experience of the growing JLT community of over 100,000 residents and visitors by meeting demand for new recreational facilities
DMCC – the world’s flagship Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise – welcomed AC Milan legend Clarence Seedorf to inaugurate the JLT Football Pitch, a purpose-built facility to encourage grassroots sports across the community. Located within Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) Park in Dubai, the new facility will further expand the wide sporting and recreational offerings in the JLT district.
The JLT Football Pitch is made of a FIFA accredited 3G playing surface, which is sized in line with international standards to accommodate seven-a-side pitches and can also be split into two separate five-a-side pitches. The facility is fully equipped with goals, benches, A-boards and is completely floodlit to be used during night hours.

The JLT Football Pitch was inaugurated through an official opening ceremony on 27 March 2022 in the presence of AC Milan icon Clarence Seedorf, along with senior DMCC executives including Paul Ashton, Executive Director – Property, and James Garbutt, Director – Asset Management. The ceremony was also attended by a number of senior representatives from the sports sector and key partners. The event was hosted in conjunction with La Liga MENA and saw a tournament between local children, a master class with Clarence Seedorf, a football freestyle show, in addition to an awards and prizes giveaway.
The opening of this new amenity underscores DMCC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the lifestyle experience in JLT and maintain its position as one of the leading residential, commercial and recreational districts in Dubai. JLT is home to an increasingly growing diverse community of over 100,000 people who live in, work in, and visit the area. As the master developer of the JLT district, DMCC continues to play a prominent role in shaping the development of its community.
This latest sports facility follows on from a number of major projects completed in 2021 and the announcement of further enhancements to be made to JLT throughout 2022, including a range of fitness stations and sports courts, improved infrastructure through the construction of a new road network and landscaping works, providing additional parking spaces for visitors to the community, and renovating the various lakes across the district.
