Second consecutive year that DMCC sponsors its employees to participate

DMCC, Dubai’s and the region’s global gateway for commodity trade and enterprise, supports Dubai Cares’ Walk for Education for the second consecutive year by sponsoring all DMCC staff and their families to partake in the 3km walk.

The fifth edition of ‘Walk for Education’ is taking place today, Friday 7th February at Jumeirah Beach Park and aims to support the millions of children in developing countries that walk long distances on a daily basis to go to school. It is a great opportunity for members of the UAE community to volunteer for a good cause, enjoy fun activities with family and friends and meet new people.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, said:

“Access to education is an issue we at DMCC take very seriously. We want to give children from developing countries an opportunity to succeed and Dubai Cares’ Walk for Education is a great way to support such a good cause. Last year’s event was very successful and our employees’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The number of employees who attended this year was even higher and our employees shows continuous support towards CSR activities.”

The event is an integral part of DMCC’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that focuses on promoting safe and accessible education. DMCC previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Cares to rehabilitate an Early Childhood Development school in Gaza. The project has been successfully completed thanks to the fund donated and as a sign of gratitude, the school was named after DMCC.
