Sanjeev Dutta is the Executive Director of Commodities and Financial Services at DMCC. He oversees DMCC’s commodities vertical, and directs the development, implementation and regulation of the organisation’s financial products, platforms and services.

An expert on trade finance and commodity markets, Sanjeev is responsible for identifying new business opportunities for DMCC and nurturing existing commercial partnerships. He was instrumental in establishing the DMCC Tea Centre, DMCC Coffee Centre and the award-winning DMCC Tradeflow platform, and now tasked with enhancing the trade of agri and softs, precious metals and stones through Dubai.

Sanjeev is a senior member of DMCC’s executive leadership team and supports the general management, strategic direction and growth initiatives of the organisation. Sanjeev devised and implemented the organisation’s Code of Corporate Governance, and established its comprehensive risk management protocol.

Joining on its inception, Sanjeev has held a number of senior roles within DMCC and previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DCGX). A distinguished speaker, Sanjeev regularly represents DMCC at international industry events and is an expert on trade, commodities and Islamic Finance.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Sanjeev has over two decades of multi-industry expertise in auditing, financial controls, consulting, risk management, corporate governance and general management with both PwC and KPMG.

HERMAN WANG

Herman Wang is a London-based managing editor, OPEC and Middle East news, for S&P Global Commodity Insights. He covers OPEC’s ministerial meetings, and oversees S&P Global’s energy reporting on the Middle East, managing a team of editors in Dubai and a network of correspondents throughout the region. He also serves as the principal editor for S&P Global’s closely followed monthly Platts OPEC+ production survey.

Herman previously was based in Washington, D.C. from 2009-2016, as a senior editor for S&P Global, covering U.S. energy policy. He was a co-creator and co-host of Capitol Crude, The U.S. Oil Policy Podcast, which won the 2015 Jesse H. Neal Award for best webcast.

Herman is a Northwestern University alum with a master’s degree in journalism and bachelor’s degrees in environmental sciences and geography. He was the Washington correspondent for the Chattanooga Times Free Press, a daily newspaper based in Tennessee, before joining S&P Global, and has also reported for newspapers in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Daniel is the Associate Director of Global Engagement & Intelligence for Oil/Petrochemicals and has been based in Dubai since November 2018. Since joining S&P Global Commodity Insights in 2008 in London, Daniel has been responsible for some of the company’s major crude oil price assessments, including Dated Brent. He also covered a variety of refined products assessed out of London.

In 2012 he moved to Singapore and became Managing Editor of the Asia crude team in 2013. In 2014 he was appointed Associate Editorial Director for Strategic Oil Markets Development where he led efforts in Asia and the Middle East to engage the oil community about S&P Global Commodity Insights’ Platts price assessment methodology, provided insight on market developments and trends, and gathered feedback about the value that S&P Global Commodity Insights provides. From 2016 until his move to Dubai he was manager of the crude and residual fuel market pricing and reporting teams in Singapore.

Daniel earned a bachelor’s degree in Social and Political studies from the University of Sheffield.

DONG WANG

Dong Wang is an Analyst based in S&P Global Commodity Insights Dubai office, covering Middle East oil market analytics since late 2021. He also oversees the publication of the Middle East Oil Market Forecast report.

Prior to S&P Global Commodity Insights, Dong began his career as a reservoir engineer at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, contributing to the management and development of onshore oil fields.

He holds a MS in Petroleum Engineering from Khalifa University, UAE, a MS in Drilling Engineering and a BS in Petroleum Engineering from China University of Petroleum, Beijing.

MIGUEL BARROS BRITO

Miguel Barros Brito is an Analyst at S&P Global Commodity Insights and is part of the Low Carbon Electricity team. He is based in Dubai, UAE where he has been living since 2020.

Before joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, Miguel worked as an energy regulations executive for a solar energy developer in Dubai, where he was responsible for navigating renewable energy policies on target markets in Africa, Central Asia, Europe, and South America and conducting feasibility studies for new solar capacity. Miguel also worked for a data analytics firm based in New York reporting on policy developments in the North American energy sector. Prior to this, he assisted in the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Europe and North Africa at EDP Renewables, a major clean energy developer based in Spain, and also held different positions within the United Nations system as part of the Economics and Finance Committee teams of European missions in New York.

He holds a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University (USA), specializing in energy policy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law & Economics from the University of Cambridge (UK).
