Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading free zone in 2019 with over 17,500 member companies from 170 countries, employing over 60,000 people.

Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2019, DMCC was named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record fifth consecutive year.

Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working across 68 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project; the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.

Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).

The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016.

Ambassador Kapoor

In a diplomatic career spanning almost three decades, Ambassador Kapoor has served in different capacities in the Indian Missions in Moscow, Kyiv, London and Geneva apart from serving in the Ministry of External Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi. He also served as an international civil servant with the Commonwealth Secretariat in London.

He was India’s High Commissioner to Mozambique and the Kingdom of Swaziland from Jan 2014 to early 2016, and Ambassador to Israel from March 2016 to September 2019.

Ambassador Kapoor has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India and a Masters in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics.

Sachin Suri

Sachin is a successful social entrepreneur with over 22 years of experience in areas of corporate strategy and risk management with fortune 500 companies in USA, Europe and India in the finance, commodities and defence sectors.

Sachin developed the CropData concept and the overall strategy with the vision to transform the lives of marginal and small farmers of India.

Sachin also co-founded Instasol Group, USA, sixteen years ago, a company specializing in advanced defence technologies and is a market leader in India, in its domain.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Sachin was a corporate strategist with Ernst & Young, New York and spent a few years as a risk management analyst for fortune 500 companies, while working with Ernst & Young, JP Morgan Chase and Credit Suisse First Boston in New York.

Sachin is an accomplished inventor, awarded with several USPTO patents on breakthrough technologies, having an MBA in finance from City University of New York and BE in Chemical from Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Aurangabad.
