Mustafa Ansari
Energy Economist at Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP)
Mr. Ansari has over 5 years’ experience as an Economist covering both the public and private sector. Currently, he serves as an Energy Economist at the Arab Petroleum Investment Corporation (APICORP) with a research focus on MENA energy. He actively gives presentations in the region and globally; addressing short to medium-term investment, energy policy reform, oil market trade and the role of LNG. Prior to joining APICORP, he held several roles at the Department of Energy and Climate Change (United Kingdom) covering energy efficiency, climate change and international oil and gas markets; and formerly as a policy analyst for the Iraqi Institute for Economic Reform. Mr. Ansari holds a Master’s Degree in Development Economics from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the City University of London.
Sanjay Sharma
Vice President, Middle East and India, Chemical Consulting, IHS
Sanjay serves as the Vice President for the Middle East and India based in our Dubai Office. He has over 22 years of experience in the industry with extensive consulting, project management, commercial and manufacturing experience. He has actively participated in developing strategic direction, improving business performance, developing and managing joint ventures and alliances and engaging in mergers and acquisitions. Sanjay has managed assignments in Europe, Middle East, India and Asia covering a wide range of products within Petrochemical, Chemical and Specialty sectors.
Colin Chapman
President, Euro Petroleum Consultants (EPC)
Colin Chapman has over 40 years of international experience in Refining and Petrochemicals working in countries such as Russia and FSU Region. Colin started his career in Foster Wheeler (France) in 1971 as a Process Engineer and after five years he moved to Beicip France (Consulting Group IFP) to work as a Process Consultant.
In 1979, Colin returned to Foster Wheeler as Process Manager. In 1982, Colin became Business Development Director for the Former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe for UOP. His role involved responsibility for sales of all UOP technologies and assisting refiners and petrochemical companies through all stages of project development.
Colin is now President of Euro Petroleum Consultants which he founded in 1996. EPC’s role is to act as Client Project Engineer [CPE] for oil, gas and petrochemical producers by supporting the Client’s team through all stages of project development. In addition to their consulting activities, EPC organises high-level conferences and training courses for the oil, gas and petrochemicals sector.
Ranjith Raja
Energy Analyst, Thomson Reuters
Ranjith Raja comes with a diverse experience from the Energy and Shipping industry. He works with the Oil Research team for Thomson Reuters as an Energy Analyst and focuses on the Oil flows and shipping data for the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to Thomson Reuters, he has been in the Shipping industry for 14 years as a Merchant Navy officer with leading Tanker owners on their Oil, Chemical and Gas tanker fleet, last sailing as a Captain for Oil Tankers. Post sailing, he was managing commercial operations for the Oil Tanker fleet of a ship-owner in Middle-East and West Africa. Ranjith is a certified Master Mariner from the Government of India and has done his Bachelors in Nautical Technology followed by an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada.
Giorgos Beleris
Lead Oil Analyst, MEA, Oil Research & Forecasts, Thomson Reuters
Giorgos was one of the founding members of Thomson Reuters Oil Research & Forecasts (R&F) team in London. He was a major contributor within the team and instrumental in the team’s deliverables. He is currently the Lead Oil Analyst of the new Oil R&F team in Dubai. He is involved in oil flows, fundamentals research and model development. Giorgos developed the Oil R&F's forecasting models for crude prices and oil demand amongst other projects. He has also been exposed to many aspects of the energy and shipping industry.
Giorgos holds an MMath in Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences and an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering.
