Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading free zone in 2019 with over 17,500 member companies from 170 countries, employing over 60,000 people.

Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2019, DMCC was named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record fifth consecutive year.

Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working across 68 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project; the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.

Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).

The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016.

Gopaal Ahuja is the Chairman at Komal Exotic Spices Pvt Ltd. He is a Post Grad in Medical Research (M.Pharm., Pharmacology) from Ahmedabad; and holds an MDP from IIM-Ahmedabad. He is Chairman, Food Processing committee of Indo American Chamber of Commerce. He is heading WORLD CLOVE COUNCIL as Chairman, offering authentic information on world cloves' scenario to all the stakeholders.  He is also Chairman of India-Indonesia Business Association offering (Agri-Business) advice to Governments on Trade Pacts. (India-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement) With over 37 years of experience in the agri-business, he brings on board his veteran knowledge of all spice and dry fruit products, understanding of the market dynamics, distribution and supply chain acumen, and astute judgment. His able guidance steers the organizations he is associated with, helm towards greater heights.


S. KANNAN

KANNAN

S. Kannan was a former Director of Spices Board of India, Executive Director of International Pepper Community (UN-ESCAP), Indonesia and Executive Director & Secretary of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India.

He is a Post Grad in Market Research & Advertising, Financial Management and Export, from Ahmedabad; and holds an MDP from IIM-Ahmedabad. He has a good understanding of International Trade & Marketing of spices and pepper, insight into all activities connected with spices and value addition.

He is the Chairman & Managing Director of Hakan Agro DMCC and the President of UAE & India government sponsored 'India Middle East Agro Trade Investment & Investment Forum (IMEA-TIIF). Tomar advises governments & multilateral bodies on food policy and food security and is the serving Board Member of Food Trade Group of DMCC (Government of Dubai), Indian Chamber of Commerce, Lithuania, EU and The CXO Alliance. He has won several awards including Forbes Top 100 Indian Leaders in the Arab World in 2019, 2018, 2017 & 2016, Global Agriculture Award (2019) from Indian Chamber of Food & Agriculture, Globoil Award (2019) for CRS & Championing Farmers Rights, 'Business Leader of the year' (2016) from the DMCC - Government of Dubai, 'Visionary Leadership of the Year (2018) from Republic TV, Outstanding contribution Award (2017) from Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, 'Arabian Business Indian CEO 2016 Award' and ‘Indywood Pravasi Ratna Award' (2017).
