DDE Trade Floor

The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) trading floor is located on the second floor of the Almas Tower. Covering an area of 1,500sq/m, the trading floor comprises of public trading facilities; private viewing rooms and sophisticated technical instruments to inspect diamonds; as well as fully automated vaulting facilities and digital market information.

The trading floor is host to a cluster of service providers guaranteeing an easy flow of goods and services. These diamond-specific service providers include:

Banking

Antwerp Diamond Bank is the only bank exclusively focused on the diamond and jewellery business. It is the second largest diamond bank in the world, with over 75 years of history and a network of offices covering all the major traditional centres including Dubai.

Insurance

Driesassur DMCC is a leading worldwide insurance and reinsurance broker. With headquarters based in Antwerp, it has offices in New York, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Tokyo, Bangkok and Dubai.

Valuation and Tendering

S.T.A.O is the sole service provider of tenders organized under DDE’s umbrella. S.T.A.O. provides diligent and professional provision of the valuation, tender and auction services delivered by a team of industry specialists from Antwerp.

Deep Boiling

The region’s first diamond boiling facility, Diamond Boiling Facility DMCC opened its premises in July 2009. This is a specialist plant with machines that help remove dirt and trace materials from rough and polished diamonds and helps them achieve maximum value.

Certification

International Diamond Laboratories, a subsidiary of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority (DMCC), provides the diamond trade and jewellery retailers with quality reports of polished diamonds. It is the world’s largest independent gem certification and appraisal institute and the only service provider worldwide to issue English and Arabic-language certificates.

Secure Transportation

Brink’s is a global leader in secure transportation and logistics solutions and has a fully operational office at DDE. Services include import and export facilities, storage, transportation of consignments, customs clearance, KP operations and inspections.

Transguard is a division of the Emirates Group offering a range of security related services. They are the only security agency authorised to escort and handle valuable cargo at Dubai International Airport.
