DUBAI DIAMOND EXCHANGE
The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), a subsidiary of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, a Dubai Government initiative is a non-commercial club, which serves as the interface for the Middle East diamond and coloured stones market. As a trade regulator and market maker for diamond and coloured stones businesses, the DDE is the only bourse in the Middle East affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB). Founded in 1947, the WFDB provides a legal framework and enacts regulations for its member diamond bourses to uphold international standards.
DDE has moved to its permanent premises in the iconic Almas Tower (Almas means ‘diamond’ in Arabic). Home to over 300 regional and international precious gems companies, Almas Tower is the symbol for precious gems trading in the Middle East. At the heart of the trade, the Dubai Diamond Exchange provides a complete service environment for everyone in the precious gems pipeline - from grading to shipping, from trading to networking.
The Dubai Diamond Exchange brings together several large scale initiatives that compliment the industry requirements, such as rough diamond tenders, the “Middle East - China Diamond & Jewellery Summit” which successfully brought together two of the biggest consumer markets in the world, customs facilitation for coloured stones and a dedicated Dubai coloured stones research study.
