The ‘Visions of Dubai’ gold coins program was first launched in September 2007 to be Dubai’s first souvenir gold coin. The name of the coin has been selected to reflect and showcase the visionary leadership of Dubai. The program has received significant interest from individuals, corporations and anyone who values the opportunity of capturing the spirit of Dubai in a collection of precious memorabilia that can be used as a souvenir, collectible item and of course as an invaluable investment opportunity. Other coins in the series will continue to feature images of Dubai reflecting the spirit and identity of the Emirate.

The Burj Al Arab Series
The first coin in the “Visions of Dubai” series features on the obverse: the image of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and on the reverse: the world’s only 7-star hotel, the iconic Burj Al Arab (Tower of the Arabs). The coin was launched in September 2007 and was minted in 22-karat gold for the first two years. Since October 2009 the coin is minted in 24-karat gold.
The Palm Jumeirah Series
The second coin in the “Visions of Dubai” series features a new image of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the obverse; the ‘eighth’ wonder of the world” the Palm Jumeirah is captured on the reverse. This coin has been minted in 24-karat gold since October 2009.
